During the PANTHER electric Experience event at the Salzburgring, Rosenbauer presented the fully electric flagship vehicle of the Rosenbauer fleet – the PANTHER electric – to 300 customers, sales partners, and representatives from airports around the world.
They were given the opportunity to extensively test the PANTHER electric, get to know more new products, and exchange a wealth of information and experiences.
The test drives around the Salzburgring were the big highlight of the PANTHER electric Experience. Participants from around the world can experience the benefits of e-mobility firsthand – guided and supported by experienced Rosenbauer employees.
Revolutionary Technology (RT), another fully electric firefighting vehicle, was also available for testing. The RT carried out short driving maneuvers specifically designed to demonstrate its small turning radius in practice.
Even more innovative products and solutions for airport and other fire services were showcased in the pit lane.
These included the mobile PANTHER driving simulator (RFC Simulator Tactic PANTHER), the multifunctional RTE Robot AX, the RFC battery extinguishing system for extinguishing battery fires, and the RFC CUTTEX combined cutting and extinguishing system.
The PANTHER electric delivers full power in all-electric mode and achieves faster acceleration and a higher top speed compared to conventionally powered vehicles – with significantly reduced CO2 emissions.
Acceleration from 0 to 80 km/h is achieved well under the required 25 seconds.
The top speed of 120 km/h is also reached fully electrically. In Boost Mode, the drive motors are supplied with energy not only from the high-voltage batteries but also through the energy backup system.
This enables the vehicle to exceed its already generous 720 kW/965 hp and deliver 880 kW/1180 hp, ensuring even better acceleration. In this mode, 80 km/h can be reached from a standstill in less than 20 seconds.
The vehicle is designed to handle daily operations with no compromises.
As well as the incomparably dynamic driving performance powered by four electric drive motors as already mentioned, the pump can also be operated in full electric mode.
The high-voltage batteries supply enough energy to handle multiple typical emergency assignments (drive to location, fire extinguishing operation, return journey) on a single battery charge.
The requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the Federal Aviation Administration are therefore not only met but significantly exceeded.
Thanks to a charging capacity of up to 300 kW, the PANTHER electric’s batteries can be charged extremely quickly so that operational readiness is restored.
To ensure continuous operation and unrestricted usability of the vehicle, an energy backup system is also installed in the vehicle. The performance of the extinguishing system (pump, foam proportioning, turret) is exactly the same as that of the conventionally powered PANTHER.
Even better driving dynamics, higher performance in all-electric operation, greater safety, and environmentally friendly: the PANTHER electric combines the strengths of the legendary PANTHER with the benefits of e-mobility.
